For years I’ve shared my thoughts in small pieces. A few lines under a photo, a story that disappears after a day, a quick reflection between shoots. Those moments mattered to me, and many of you have written back, shared them, carried them with you. But they were always fragments. A thought would come, I’d catch it in a sentence or two, and the feed would move on.
Lately I’ve felt the need to slow down. To give those thoughts the space they actually need, and to write in a longer, more natural way, the way I would talk to you over a coffee or on a quiet evening after a long day on set.
Tomorrow’s Norm is that space.
As a creative director, I move between worlds: photography, film, branding, set design, and the quieter work of understanding what a brand truly wants to say. Every project teaches me something. Some of it is technical, but most of it is about trust, intuition, and the courage to show up as you are. These are things that don’t fit in a caption. They need time, and so do you, when you read them.
I believe that what feels new and daring today becomes the norm tomorrow. The creatives who shape that future are not the ones waiting for perfect conditions. They are the ones who start, learn in public, and let their realness be part of the work.
And at the centre of it all are emotions. For me, creativity has never been about making something look beautiful. It’s about making someone feel something. A shiver, a memory, a sense of calm, a spark of courage. If an image or a story doesn’t move anything inside you, it’s just decoration. Emotions are what connect us, to our work, to each other, and to ourselves. They are the thread running through everything I make, and everything I’ll share here.
Here I’ll share what I’ve learned behind the camera and beyond it. How emotions guide my creative decisions, and how to trust what you feel when you create. How sound shapes everything I make, because I truly move by the sound and create from it. What feminine energy means to me in creative work, and why softness can be one of the strongest forces in a visual story. Honest lessons from the set, including the moments that didn’t go to plan and changed the way I work. And the places, people and rituals that inspire me, from Ibiza to wherever the work takes me.
This isn’t a portfolio, and it isn’t a guide on how to do things right. It’s a conversation. A perspective. A slower place in a fast world, for anyone who wants to look at their creative path with a little more courage and a little less fear.
If you create, if you see the world in light and texture and feeling, I hope you find something here that stays with you longer than a story does.
Welcome to Tomorrow’s Norm.
With intention,
Kata
